Ms. Thomson was graduated from the University of Colorado School of Law in 1991. Her interest in the research, writing, and appellate aspects of the legal profession were formed during her last year in law school when she received the school’s 1990-91 legal aid award for participation in the legal aid appellate clinic.

Ms. Thomson spent several years in judicial clerkships with Judge Richard C. McLean of the Boulder District Court, and Judges Ed Ruland and Janice B. Davidson of the Colorado Court of Appeals. She then taught legal writing for a year at the University of Colorado Law School. While at the law school, Ms. Thomson also acted as faculty director for the school’s Rothgerber moot court program.

Ms. Thomson is admitted to practice in Colorado, in the District of Colorado, in the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals, and in the United States Supreme Court. The emphasis of her work at TAM continues to be on motions and appellate practice.
